My first visit to the Amish Grocery Store

July 10, 2016
I have checked one thing off my bucket list for summer!
I finally made it to Pine View Grocery, the Amish Grocery Store in Charlotte Hall.

Where is it? 9035 Glock PL, Charlotte Hall
Heading down Charles Street (Rt 6), before you hit St. Mary's county, you turn at the Green House B.K's sign you see above. You will see a local farm stand on the left before you need to turn.  After turning you keep driving until you see the handwritten sign (above) for Pine View, then turn right. Follow the road all the way around to the left. You will see cows, buzz cut horses (gorgeous!) and even an Emu before you arrive at the store. It did feel like I was not in the correct spot, but then I saw a horse carriage parked.
I had to prepare my son for the atmosphere before hand. He has never been to the Farmers' Markets.  Everyone was very nice walking in, and other shoppers from our community were there. You grab a grocery cart and get ready to be amazed! Everything is ran on a generator, so the lights are not bright. Bills are added up on a counter calculator.

Their bulk dog food, flour and spice prices cannot be beat! They did have normal grocery items, and everything you ever need for your mason jars. Bulk cereal, oats, dried fruits, eggs, meats, cheeses.  I only had $20 cash with me, but I will be going back prepared, they also accept checks.

I bought ready pancake mix that you just add water (10 pds for $7.50), 1 pds of Reese's pieces, loaf of bread, 1.5 pds Dark Chocolate Reese's cup, dried fruit and paid only $12! Big thanks to my friend Lacy for telling me about this, and now I am able to share it with you!

I took photos to share with subscribers, camera was never directed at anyone in the store. I did not want to be disrespectful. Please use same courtesy when shopping.
