Kid Friendly Charles County Holiday Trail Guide

The annual Charles County Holiday Trail will offer locals and visitors an opportunity to shop for the holidays, while visiting county landmarks all decorated for the holidays!

Here are the events that have special fun for the kids! Last year I really enjoyed Maxwell Hall. Gorgeous inside, free with snacks, a free wreath craft from Hughesville Garden Club and fun holiday crafts. If you haven't been before--go there!

Serenity Farm

December 11th, Free ; 1-3 PM
Tours given at 1:30 and 2:30. Make a Natural Wreath while visiting.  Live Nativity happening Dec 9th and 10th too! See information on both with same link.

Maxwell Hall I went last year-loved it!
Dec 10th & 11th; 11-4 pm 
Decorated with Holiday Movie Themes, Wreath and Bow Demonstrations, Entertainment, Refreshments, Outdoor Deck Wonderland, Garden Club Market Place, Children's Crafts. Family Friendly! 

Port Tobacco One Room School House
December 10-11th; 10-3 pm
Enjoy Smore's and scavenger hunt on site for kids! 

General Smallwood's Retreat House
December 11; 1- 7:00 pm
Enjoy cooking demonstrations, candle making, and a holiday bonfire complete with cookies and hot cider! 

Kris Kringle Christmas Market
Dec. 9; 4-8 pm and Dec 10th 9-8 pm  
Enjoy local music talent, light displays, handmade crafts, and more! Modeled after a German Market, the fairgrounds transform into a great holiday event! Admission is $1 or bring a can of food for the Southern Maryland Food Bank.

Mount Aventine
Dec 10 and 11th; 11-5 pm $5 per car
Live music and crafts each day! Along with bake sale and more. Click link for schedule.

Old Waldorf School
December 11th; 12-5pm
See Santa, enjoy carolers and refreshments!
